DISPLAYERS rock “don’t” at The Whisky!

damian israel shiner closes his solo set on June 21, 2024 at the world-renowned Whisky a Go Go (Sunset Strip, Los Angeles, CA) with his song “don’t” — get more info on the web: https://displaymusic.com Here are the lyrics to this song available on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, etc. don’t (by damian israel shiner) i thought i knew you, but i just know your kind. i know it so well, you are almost me. I was. i think in matter, but that's just energy, and life's too short to give you mine, or me. don't try to tell me things you think i just wanna hear don't try to spare my feelings you speak before you think your words are out of sync and i can't take another rollercoaster ride with you i thought i saw you, out just the other day. i only recognize you when you walk away. i think it's funny, you live a waking dream, but your smiles are wasted lies on me. don't try to tell me things you think i just wanna hear don't try to hide your feelings you act without a thought and i'm the one who's caught and i can't take another rollercoaster ride with you you don't want me anymore, but did you ever? one last word, then you were out the door -- i got severed. you don't want me anymore, but did you ever? one last word, then you were out the door -- my heart shattered. i thought i felt you, but it was only rain. time progresses, still our world's the same. you live in contrast, i see in shades of gray, and life's too short to give myself away. don't try to tell me things you think i just wanna hear don't try to make me smile you ought to know by now your words are hollow and i can't take another rollercoaster... i can't take another freaky poser... i can't take another game of “how you like me now”

When the world shut down in March 2020, in-person shows were postponed (and eventually canceled), and damian israel shiner and the displayers took it upon themselves to create a new avenue of access for their fans, friends, and families. Thus, the #saturdayshortset was born. From March 20, 2020, through July 8, 2023, the displayers performed a weekly half-hour of live music, via Facebook live-streaming, beginning at 6:30 pm EST. For many weeks, throughout the series, the displayers created TEASER VIDEOS — often covers of well-known songs, but done in a unique way, with video tricks and over-dubs for additional parts. They were a lot of fun to produce and kept the fans entertained and excited about each upcoming #saturdayshortset. Check out the direct links to these live performances and the teaser videos below!
