damian,
ok, you get the biggest F***ER EVER
so I'm sitting here listening to the SJ disc and getting chills over Precious and Thanks.
then I popped in your solo disc... (background- when we sawtelles hear a brilliant song
we wish we had written the person who is performing it gets a BASTARD!! shout-out.
but then occasionally there is some song(s) that is just beyond bastard. that person gets
this new FUCKER designation)
ok, Rock The Casbah made me just shake my head and want to smash something
because it is absolutely stunning and fresh and better than the original. same drum
comment as below.
I've got the disc on again. sad has drums that make me want to stop drumming.
tell Chris that. you guys did that one at the sofa and I thought it then too.
and the the closer don't.... don't even get me started.
I"m not just kissing your ass about this and blah blah just because I think you want to
hear it or you think that people say such stuff when they don't mean it. I don't give lip
service like that. there are seriously very FEW bands that get in my brain and you(rs)
are one of them. not every song but the ones that do leave a big impression. you have
an absolutely beautiful voice, clear, great range and very passionate.
just an example of a couple new haven bands that I feel strongly about: and they are
sawtelles friends- the Jellyshirts and Deep City Elm. I'll go over there to see if any
of the songs they have up are the type I'm talking about.
anyway, keep us in mind for something up your way. we have our yearly wacky
on-the-course-of-the-newhaven-running road race-5000 people-run-by-us-as-we-play-
the-same-song-over and over-for an hour and a half- gig on monday morning. plus then
another 6 or so for the rest of the month.
rock on.
J (julie riccio, the sawtelles)
