from shinerjones to solo [05]
The final show on October 13th, 2006 offered a celebratory close to the
extensive and fruitful chapter of shinerjones. damian, Charlie, Steve and
Chris parted as friends and fans of each other. (For more details on each
former member's whereabouts, go to the shinerjones website.)
Then, December of 2006, shiner returned to the greater boston music scene
with the next evolution of his musical avocation: solo acoustic, accompanined
by Daigo Fujiwara on upright acoustic bass, and Robyn Priest on all forms of
hand percussion. shiner return debut played out as a SOUL LOW performer
at Cambridge's hip basement club, the Lizard Lounge. Followed up by another
acoustic solo performance at Perks Coffeehouse in Norwood, and a sold-out
show, shared with good friends and Boston stand-out, Sand Machine, shiner
set the tone for an aggressive gigging schedule.
Now, in the final stages of mixing and mastering his first solo CD project,
shiner is preparing to release "the basement sessions" early in the summer,
and support it with local and regional performances.
shiner has been performing lately with former bandmates Chris Harris and Robyn Priest, long-time friend and collaborator Anne Marie David, and newest associate, Wes Cole Switzer on bass. “I'm thrilled to be supported by the fantastic talent, enthusiasm and friendship of these folks, especially Chris -- he’s been incredibly instrumental in helping me produce the CD, as well as a sounding board for new direction of this current live project,” offers shiner.
